“Leveraging the Established Global Offshore Supply Chain”
Floating Wind Solutions Conference & Exhibition 2021 will be an ideal platform to understand the energy transition strategies of major energy companies and their important commitment to get to ‘net zero’ by 2050 or sooner.
Floating Wind Solutions will showcase the many capabilities of the established Global Offshore Supply Chain and create a strategic platform for technical solutions and knowledge sharing while facilitating development of this novel industry. Our goal is to create a strategically significant forum bringing together key industry players to share technologies, opportunities, lessons learned and challenges in order to influence the market towards delivering competitive, commercially scaled Floating wind developments on an accelerated basis. Floating Wind Solutionswill be a ‘let’s take inventory’ of proven and readily available solutions, services and technologies sourced from an experienced supply chain that took costs from $80/bbl. to $35/bbl. Our concept will bring together supply and demand under one roof in Houston to discuss technical solutions for two days and offer two evenings of networking opportunities. New strategies, innovative solutions, applied technologies and more efficient ways of working will be essential ingredients to the industry’s future success.
We are pleased to announce our Advisory Board of distinguished experts in all fields involved in Floating wind and related Supply Chains. Our confirmed members include Lars Samuelsson ABS, Tom Fulton Acteon Group, Knut Vassbotn Aker Offshore Wind, Henrik Baltscheffsky Hexicon, Alla Weinstein Castle Wind, Bruno Geschier Ideol, Yvan Leni Maersk Supply Services, William Cooper Black Arch, Thomas Agnevall Strana Offshore, Steve Rampton Vesper Marine, Chris Barton Wood, and Von Thompson Xodus Group.
Having captured strong interest with many key players, we are now working to finalize our Lead Developer-Sponsor in the coming weeks. We are also in the process of confirming representatives from Equinor, Shell New Energies/EOLFI and Principle Power; and further invitees from MHI Vestas, Seaway 7, Oceaneering, TechnipFMC, TOTAL Quadran, Duke Energy and Orsted.
Projections for exponential growth in the harvesting of Floating Wind Energy will be reliant upon the technology and experience of today’s leading companies many historically focused on the offshore supply chain. The oil and gas industry are well suited to applying experience in new areas and different settings. With few exceptions, these companies are the only ones who have ever designed, constructed or installed permanently moored structures of any kind.
The timing could not be better for Floating Wind Solutions 2021. Floating wind is a sizeable global opportunity ramping-up for commercialization across six to ten distinct markets; one in which cost reductions of the ‘system’ are currently a major focus and high priority. Over a short period of time, a series of material market developments have elevated floating wind to new heights including: Equinor’s rapid advancement into commercial scale offshore wind projects and their goal of becoming a global major within offshore wind with equity ambitions of 12 to 16 GW by 2035; Royal Dutch Shell who aims to make power a significant part of their business with an emphasis that offshore wind is mission critical with a current opportunity pipeline of 5 GW and expanding; Shell’s increased investment in several floater designs followed by their recent acquisition of EOLFI; and TOTAL Quadran’s recent commitment to pursue floating wind as part of their Renewables’ strategy.
Floating Wind Solutions (FWS) is the ultimate opportunity for those who are presently involved-in / or seeking entry into Floating wind. FWS will facilitate network opportunities with the right experienced people and gain knowledge of the technical solutions available.
